Very intrigued with the Bisely Blackhawk in 454 Casull. Hoping Ruger has fixed the undersized throat issue found on previous 45Colt.
Any downside to using the shorter barrel?
My favorite FA 83 is with the 4 3/4" barrel
The 454 is a lot of horsepower for a short barrel. Not sure how much velocity you'd lose...maybe Michael can test it out for you My FA Premier is 7 1/2". I'd rather have it shorter, but then I'd probably opt for a 45 loaded hot.

I have a 7.5 inch Ruger, I think. Did a lot of work with it years ago, then set it up in the Ransom a couple of years ago to test with.
I also had one of the short Rugers, I think it was 2.5 or 3 inches, I don't recall exactly. I had it for many years, never fired it one time. Traded it to my son Mark David, which turned around and traded it on a watch or something.....
So I don't have any short barrel data. And unless I can set it up in the Ransom I won't have any.............Hurts my hand!
LOL
I've had a model 83 premier grade for over 20 years. It is a 10". I like it but wanted to try something different.
